Hey guys, what’s up? Today, I wanna share a little project I just did. It’s about recreating the Reliance Entertainment logo. Sounds a bit random, I know, but I found it interesting, so bear with me.

So, first thing I did was to look up what this company even is. Turns out, Reliance Entertainment is a big deal in the Indian media and entertainment industry. They’re part of the larger Reliance Group. Okay, cool. Now, what about the logo?
I watched a few intros of theirs and noticed a common theme – it usually starts with a black background. Simple enough. I opened up my image editor and set the background to black. Easy peasy.
Then, I found this one description talking about the logo appearing in outer space with a view of the Sun, like a fireball. And this fireball transforms into a red triangle, and then the text “ReLIΛNCe” appears. Alright, that sounds a bit more challenging but doable.
- Created a new project in my editor.
- Set the background to black. #000000 for those who are curious.
- Tried to mimic a fireball effect. It was more like playing around with gradients and blur effects until it looked somewhat decent. I’m no artist, okay?
- Then, I drew a red triangle. This was the easiest part, to be honest.
- Added the text “ReLIΛNCe.” I noticed they use a lambda symbol (Λ) for the letter ‘A’, which is kinda unique. I matched the font as best as I could, but it’s not perfect.
Steps I took:
I also stumbled upon another version of their logo. It’s on a red background with a red and white rectangle. Inside, it says “BIG” in the red part and “Entertainment” in the white. And there’s a byline that reads “Reliance Big Entertainment Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.” I guess this is an older one or for a specific division.
- I changed the background to red.
- Drew a rectangle and split the colors into red and white.
- Typed out “BIG” and “Entertainment” in the appropriate sections. I used a bold, sans-serif font. Not sure if it’s the exact one, but it looks close.
- Then, I added that long byline underneath. It was a bit of a squeeze, but I managed to fit it in.
For this version:
Oh, and I found out who designed the original Reliance logo! It’s this guy named Vitthal Varia. He’s got some serious credentials, with a diploma from M.S. University and a post-grad from the National Institute of Design. Respect.

So yeah, that’s basically it. I spent a good few hours on this, mainly because I kept tweaking things and trying to get the effects right. I learned a bit about Reliance Entertainment and their branding along the way. It wasn’t a big project. I just feel good that I finished this. Hope you guys found this little experiment interesting. Catch you in the next one!
