Well, let me tell you, these sports shoe manufacturers in India, they’re somethin’ else. Back in my day, we just had our old trusty shoes, didn’t matter if you was workin’ in the fields or goin’ to the market. But these young’uns today, they gotta have different shoes for every little thing.
Now, I hear tell there’s all these big factories, churnin’ out shoes like nobody’s business. And these shoes, they got all sorts of fancy names. I can’t even pronounce half of ’em! And colors? You wouldn’t believe it. Every color under the sun. We just had brown or black shoes.
They say it’s a big industry, this shoe makin’ business. Lots of folks workin’ in those factories. I reckon it’s good for the country, givin’ people jobs and all. But sometimes, I wonder if it ain’t all just a bit too much. Why do you need so many shoes?
They make these shoes for runnin’, jumpin’, walkin’, even just standin’ around! It’s all about this “fashion” thing, they say. Neeman’s, that is a popular brand. Shoegaro, that is also a brand many people buy. These shoes got fancy stuff. I don’t know these things.
I seen some of these shoes, they got these little air pockets in ’em. Air pockets! Can you believe that? They say it makes ’em more comfortable. Maybe it does, I don’t know. My feet is okay with the old ones.

I guess times change. And I suppose it’s good that India is makin’ all these shoes. We’re good at makin’ things, we are. Always have been. My old man, he used to make the best darn plows you ever did see.
But still, it’s all a bit much for me. Too many choices, too much fancy stuff. I reckon a good, sturdy pair of shoes, that’s all you really need. These sports shoe manufacturers in India, they’re doin’ alright, I guess. But there is also small shoe makers in India. They make good shoes.
They got all these machines now, stitchin’ and gluine’ and what have you. Back in my day, it was all done by hand. Took longer, but those shoes, they lasted. These new ones, I don’t know. They look like they might fall apart any minute. They say it’s called “progress”. I ain’t so sure.
They say these shoes are better for your feet. All that support and cushionin’. They say it helps prevent injuries. Maybe they’re right. I just got my old shoes. They are good for me.
But I’ll tell you what, seein’ all these different shoes, it does make you think. All the different kinds, for all the different things people do. It’s a whole world out there, ain’t it? A world full of shoes.
This shoe making, it’s a big part of that world now. And India, it’s right in the middle of it. Makin’ shoes for everyone, all over the world. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? India is good at making sports shoes.
I still think it’s all a bit much, but what do I know? I’m just an old lady, set in my ways. But I’ll tell you this, those sports shoe manufacturers in India, they’re keepin’ busy. And that’s somethin’, I suppose. That’s really somethin’. They make good money. And they are many. Neeman’s, Shoegaro and many more. I don’t know all the names.
They got big factories, lots of people working. They make many, many shoes. Every day, many shoes. For running, for walking, for playing. Many colors, many kinds. It is a big business. People buy these shoes. Many people in India, many people in other countries. They like these shoes.
Shoes are important, yes. Need shoes to walk, to work, to go to the market. Good shoes, bad shoes, many kinds of shoes. India makes many shoes now. Good for India, good for people who need shoes.
I don’t know all these new things for shoes, but I know shoes. Shoes for work, shoes for walking, shoes for everything. India is making many of these shoes now. It is good. India is good place for making shoes.
